2. Safety instructions
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- Do not operate the product outside the power limits specified in the technical data.
- Do not modify the device in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
- As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
- Use the product only for the intended purpose.
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.
- The product is intended only for use inside buildings.
- Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
- Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
- Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
- Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
- Do not place any liquid-filled vessels such as flower vases on or in the immediate vicinity of the product. The vessel may topple over and the liquid can then impair the electrical safety.
- Do not bend or crush the cable.
- Ensure that the product is not covered up by textiles, metal or other objects in order to avoid damage caused by overheating.
Warning – magnets
People with pacemakers should keep away from the magnets. The magnets can negatively affect the function of the pacemaker.
Do not place any bank or similar cards with magnetic strips or magnetically sensitive objects on the product. The data on the cards could be damaged or completely deleted.
Warning
Ensure that there are no metal parts (e.g. metal plate for magnetic holders) on the back of your device. Metal heats up significantly in the field of an induction charger and can damage your device and/or the charger.
Note – Inductive charging
- To be able to charge your device via the wireless charger, it must be compatible with induction charging technology. For more information, please refer to the operating instructions of your device.
- Note that mobile phone cases, covers, etc., and other materials between the wireless charger and the back of your device may interfere with or even prevent the charging process.
- To use the wireless charging function, an external USB-C power supply unit must be connected to the USB-C multi-port since otherwise the power supply will not be sufficient.
- Place your smartphone centrally on the product. If it lies on a slight incline because of the camera, this will not impair the charging function.
- Check the charging progress a short while after placing the smartphone on the product and reposition it if necessary
Warning
- Only use suitable charging devices or USB connections to charge the product.
- Do not use defective chargers or USB ports and do not attempt to repair them.
- Determine the maximum output current of the USB socket on your device. To do this, consult the operating instructions or contact the manufacturer.
- Often, the values are 500 mA (USB-A 2.0), 900 mA (USB-A 3.0) or up to 3000 mA (USB-C).
- Ensure that the total power consumption of all USB devices connected to the hub / multi-port adapter does not exceed the determined value.
- The USB-A sockets on the multi-port adapter are intended for the transfer of data and are not suitable for charging smartphones or tablets.
Note
- To use the charging function, the device must support PowerDelivery (PD) or Thunderbolt 3/4.
- To use the VGA or HDMI™ function, the device must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4.
- VGA & HDMI™: for the simultaneous use of two monitors with identical contents (Full HD / 1080 p).
- For optimised video function, we recommend passive monitor adapters/cables (without chipset / signal converter).
3. Commissioning and operation – Multi-port
- Start up your computer and allow it to boot up all the way.
- Connect the product to a spare USB port on your computer.
- The product is recognised automatically. No driver installation is required.
- Follow the instructions from your operating system if necessary.
- Connect the devices to the product in sequence in order to use them.
4. Commissioning and operation – Inductive charging
- Connect a suitable USB-C power supply unit to the USB-C PD input on the USB-C multi-port. When doing so, consult the operating instructions for the USB charger.
- Lay your smartphone with its back on the inductive charger.
- The charging process begins as soon as an effective induction field has been established. The current charge status is displayed on your smartphone.
- If no induction connection can be established, change the position of your device if necessary.
- The charging process ends automatically once your device’s battery is fully charged.
