Introduction

Congratulations on the purchase of your new double gas stove with piezo ignition. You have thus chosen a high-quality product. The operating manual is part of this product. It contains important information regarding safety, use, and disposal. Please familiarize yourself with all operating and safety instructions before using the product. Use the product only as described and for the specified applications. Keep this instruction manual well. Hand over all documents to third parties when passing on the product.

Intended use

This double gas stove with piezo ignition, hereinafter referred to as the device, is used for heating, cooking, and frying food in conjunction with suitable cookware. The device is designed only for outdoor use and must not be used as a built-in appliance. The device must only be used with the supplied pressure regulator and gas hose. The operating permit is valid according to the regional designation on the nameplate. Any other use or modification of the device is considered improper and poses significant hazards. This device fulfills all standards and directives relevant to CE conformity. In the case of a modification of the device not agreed upon with the manufacturer, compliance with these standards is no longer guaranteed. Any liability on the part of the manufacturer for damages or malfunctions resulting from this is excluded. This device is intended exclusively for use in private outdoor areas. It is not intended for use in commercial or industrial areas. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages resulting from improper use, misuse, or failure to observe this operating manual.

Read these operating instructions completely before use. When passing the device on to third parties, this operating manual must also be handed over.
  • FOHERE RQ-01A Double Gas Cooker - icon DANGER TO LIFE! Keep all packaging materials as well as small parts that could be swallowed away from babies, toddlers, and children. o This device is not a children’s toy! Children must not play with the device and must be supervised to ensure this.
  • The device must not be operated by children or untrained persons.
  • Keep children and pets away from the device, the gas cylinder, and the gas hose. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children.
  • This device is not intended to be used by persons with limited physical, sensory, or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or lack of knowledge. Keep these persons away from the device.
  • Do not allow persons who are not familiar with this device or have not read these instructions to use it.
  • FOHERE RQ-01A Double Gas Cooker - icon DANGER! Before each startup, check all gas-carrying connections for tightness and integrity. A leak test with an open flame is strictly prohibited. The device must not be put into operation if the gas-carrying connections are porous or defective. This also applies, for example, to hoses or fittings clogged by insects, as this can lead to a dangerous flashback.
  • Turn off the device during work breaks, before repositioning, before each cleaning, if you want to leave it unattended, or in case of malfunctions and hazardous situations, and close the valve of the gas cylinder. Disconnect the gas cylinder from the device when not in use.

FIRE, EXPLOSION, AND LIFE-THREATENING DANGER!

The gas continues to flow if the flame goes out during operation (e.g., due to a strong draft). Therefore, never leave the device unattended.

  • Continuously monitor the device during operation. Should the flame go out, immediately interrupt the gas supply.
  • Make sure that the windscreen does not fold during operation.
  • Do not use the device to heat or dry products that are not food.
  • Do not use the device as a heater.
  • Do not place coal on the device or use the device to ignite coal.
  • Never install this device in a built-in or slide-in construction. This device is not suitable for installation in, for example, caravans or on boats.
  • Do not move the device during operation
  • Do not operate electrical devices in the immediate vicinity of the device and do not store gasoline or other flammable liquids.
  • Always use the device with great care and do not use it:
    – under the influence of alcohol, medication, or drugs,
    – when tired or ill .
  • Do not wear easily flammable clothing while using the device and keep other combustible materials (such as hair) away from the device.
  • Use the device exclusively outdoors in a well-ventilated but wind- and rain-protected location.
  • The device must not be operated in enclosed spaces!
  • Do not use the device in a depression, as gas can accumulate there.

FIRE HAZARD!

Do not use the device on meadows or near trees or shrubs. Dry grasses and plants can easily ignite and cause a fire.

  • EXPLOSION HAZARD! Do not cover the burners or inserts underneath them, or the air vents on the side walls, with aluminum or silver foil or similar materials. This can lead to insufficient air circulation and gas combustion and cause overheating.
  • DANGER! fire and smoldering, if combustible materials or substances are near the device. Choose the installation location so that no combustible materials or substances are near the device or can get there.

Minimum distance to combustible materials or substances: -2m above, -1m sideways.
Minimum distance to hardly flammable materials, e.g. House walls:-0.6 m.

  • The burners must remain unobstructed and this must be ensured.
  • Use the device only on a flat, smooth, stable, dry, dust- and grease-free, water- and slip-resistant as well as heat-resistant surface.
  • Never place the device on or near hot surfaces (e.g. heating). Also ensure that electrical devices are not used near the device.
  • It cannot be ruled out that care products for storage surfaces/furniture contain components that attack and soften the feet. Therefore, place the device on a suitable base.
  • Do not operate the device in an explosive environment where flammable liquids, gases, or dusts are present.
  • Do not make any modifications to the device and its sealed parts. .
  • Do not put the device into operation or stop its operation immediately and do not use it anymore if it shows damage or is worn out.
  • Regularly check the device and its accessories for wear and damage. Replace worn or damaged accessories immediately.
  • Pressure reducers and gas hoses must be replaced after 5 years (from the date of manufacture). Replace the above-mentioned parts according to the information in the chapter “Technical Data”. Replacement for standard-compliant pressure reducers and gas hoses can be obtained from the manufacturer or its customer service or an authorized gas supplier.
  • The device, the gas hose and/or the pressure reducer must not be repaired independently. In this case, contact the manufacturer or its customer service to avoid hazards.

RISK OF INJURY!

The device parts can become very hot during operation! Touch only the operating controls of the device! Be sure to let the device cool down without any aids before touching, cleaning, inspecting, or storing it.

  • Accessible parts of the device can become very hot. Keep children away from the device at all times (including during the cooling phase).
  • RISK OF INJURY! The cookware used can become very hot during operation!
  • Wear gloves (with a contact heat resistance of level 2 or higher according to DIN EN 407) while using the device.
  • RISK OF INJURY! Do not lean over the device when igniting the burner.
  • Escaping (flash) flames can cause severe burns.
  • Ensure that the time between opening the gas valve and ignition does not exceed 20 seconds.
  • |f the flame, for example, is extinguished by a gust of wind, immediately turn off the gas supply to prevent uncontrolled gas leakage.
  • Never place the gas cylinder directly next to the device; instead, position it upright and secured against tipping at the back side.
  • Never use the gas hose as a carrying handle.
  • Keep the gas hose and gas cylinder away from open flames and hot surfaces.
  • Route the gas hose so that:
    – this does not become a stumbling block,
    – it is not stretched,
    – it is not bent or placed over sharp edges.
  • The length of the gas hose must not exceed 150 cm.
  • You are obligated to replace the gas hose if required by national regulations.
  • Protect the gas line from direct sunlight and other heat sources (max. 50°C). In particular, the gas line must not touch any hot parts of the device.

Safety instructions for handling gas/gas cylinders

A gas cylinder is not supplied with this device and must be purchased by the user from a specialist dealer.

DANGER TO LIFE!
Liquefied gas is highly flammable and highly explosive. Make sure that the liquefied gas does not escape uncontrollably. Any open fire (including smoking) is prohibited when handling gas.

  • Only use commercially available gas cylinders with a filling capacity of 5.8 or 11 kg.
  • Gas is heavier than oxygen and can accumulate, for example, under canopies or in depressions.

  • Always store gas cylinders (including empty ones) standing outdoors, out of reach of unauthorized persons (including children). The storage of gas cylinders is not permitted in rooms below ground level, in stairwells, garages, passageways, and driveways of buildings, as well as in their immediate vicinity.
  • Never store an unused gas cylinder near the device or other electrical appliances. Keep gas cylinders away from flames, ignition flames, or other sources of ignition.
  • When connecting and changing the gas cylinder, make sure to do this only outdoors. Ensure that there are no open flames or other sources of ignition, as well as no other people nearby.
  • Observe the safety and hazard instructions of the liquefied gas manufacturer.

Before initial commissioning

  • FOHERE RQ-01A Double Gas Cooker - icon WARNING! Check the device and accessories for damage. If you find any damage, do not operate the device, but contact the manufacturer or their customer service.
  • Remove all packaging materials and dispose of them properly. If possible, keep the original packaging of the device to be able to properly repackage the device.
  • To operate the device, you need the following components (not included in the scope of delivery):
    – Leak detection spray for gas.

Commissioning

  • Place the device horizontally on a heat-resistant, stable surface.
  • Release the locking clip (2) under the handle (3) of the lid (1) by reaching underneath it and pulling it towards you until it opens. Open the lid, which serves as a wind guard.
  • Align the device with the back of the lid/wind guard (1) facing the wind when it is windy.
  • Check whether the support grate (5) is correctly seated on the base (8) .

Mounting/dismounting the gas cylinder

  • Place the gas cylinder upright and on a stable surface behind the device. Maintain the greatest possible distance from the device. However, note that the gas hose (13) must not be under tension after installation.
  • Make sure that the valve of the gas cylinder is closed and the rotary controls (10) of the device are in the “O” position (see illustration below) before connecting the gas cylinder.
  • Connect the pressure regulator (14) to the valve of the gas cylinder, and then connect the gas hose (13) to the gas hose connection (12) of the device using a left-hand thread
  • The disassembly is carried out in the reverse order accordingly.

Initially, tighten all connections by hand and then tighten them (except for the knurled nut of the pressure regulator) firmly by hand using the enclosed open-end wrench (size 17). Do not use any additional seals!

Leak test

The device must not be put into operation if porous or defective gas-carrying connections are found. This also applies, for example, to hoses or fittings clogged by insects, as this can lead to a dangerous flame flashback.
    Use a commercially available gas leak detection spray from a specialized retailer for leak testing all gas-carrying components.

  • Make sure that the rotary controls (10) of the device are set to “O” (see figure below)
  • Open the valve of the gas cylinder and use the
    leak detection spray according to the manufacturer’s instructions:
    – Immediately shut off the gas supply if you have detected a leak.
    – Eliminate the leak by, depending on the cause, for example, tightening the screws of the corresponding connection. Perform the leak test again .

    – Do not attempt to repair the device yourself.
    – Do not operate the device, but contact customer service or a specialist company.

Ignite/operate device

  • If the device is not used for an extended period, disconnect the gas cylinder from the device and secure it with a valve protection cap and locking nut.

Care, maintenance, and storage

Clean device

  • Before cleaning or servicing the device, turn off the gas supply, allow the device to cool down, and disconnect the gas line.
  • Clean the device after each use to avoid deposits that can lead to a grease fire

  • Also observe the safety instructions before cleaning. Turn off the device and let the device cool down completely (without aids)
  • Disconnect the gas line.
  • The lid (1) can also be removed for cleaning. To do this, open the lid (1) about one hand width and lift it upwards out of the camping stove. Insert the plug hinges (4) into the corresponding recesses on the camping stove to reattach it.
  • The support grate (5) can be lifted off for cleaning.
  • Clean the device after each use
  • You can clean the support grate (5) with the soft side of a household sponge and detergent, and soak it beforehand in case of heavy soiling.
  • Clean the base (8) and the lid/windshield (1) with a damp dishcloth and a common dishwashing detergent. Make sure that no water enters the openings of the burners (6) .
  • Clean the burners (6) , the gas openings, and the piezo ignition (7) with a dry, soft brush.
  • Never attempt to lubricate stiff rotary controls (10) or valves with oil
  • Dry all parts thoroughly and place the support grate (5) back onto the base (8). Close the lid/windshield (1) if necessary.

Semi-annual maintenance

  • FOHERE RQ-01A Double Gas Cooker - icon Pressure reducer and gas hose must be replaced after 5 years (from the date of manufacture). Replace the above-mentioned parts according to the information in the chapter “Technical Data.” Please purchase standard-compliant pressure reducers and gas hoses from legitimate channels.
  • Check (especially after longer storage periods- but at least every month):
    – that there are no deposits (such as insects, dirt) on the valve of the gas cylinder, at the gas hose connection (12) at the connections of the pressure reducer (14) , at the connections of the gas hose (13) , and in the gas openings (below the burner (6).
    Clogged connections and gas openings can cause fire, deflagration , and smoldering fire.
    Remove any dirt with a dry, soft brush or compressed air.
  • Check the device regularly for its condition. Check, among other things, whether:
    – the rotary controls (10) are undamaged and can only be turned by pressing;
    – the piezo ignition button (9) is undamaged, can be turned, and then an ignition occurs;
    – all gas-carrying components and connections are tight;
    – the device and its accessories are undamaged.

Store/transport device and gas cylinder

  • Always store gas cylinders (including empty ones) standing upright outdoors, out of reach of unauthorized persons (including children). The storage of gas cylinders is not permitted in rooms below ground level, in stairwells, garages, passageways, and driveways of buildings, as well as in their immediate vicinity.
  • Never store an unused gas cylinder near the device or other electrical appliances. Keep gas cylinders away from flames, ignition flames, or other sources of ignition.
  • Protect gas cylinders and gas-carrying components from direct sunlight and temperatures above 50 C.

  • Disconnect the gas cylinder from the device and secure it with a valve protection cap and locking nut. Store and transport the gas cylinder standing upright and secured against tipping over.
  • Store the device and its accessories (gas hose (13)/pressure regulator (14)/open»end wrench (5)/this operating manual) in a place protected from dust, moisture, and direct sunlight, out of the reach of unauthorized persons.
  • Transport the device in a closed state and in the original packaging.
