INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Start by lowering the tailgate of the truck. Remove the screws that secure the tailgate cover.
  2. After removing the tailgate cover you will have access to the backside of the factory tailgate handle. Using a 10mm socket, remove the (2) nuts holding the tailgate handle in place. Undo the tailgate latch rods. Lift up on the latch to release the (2) tailgate handle studs and remove the tailgate handle.
  3. On the lock cylinder, remove the metal clip that holds the locking mechanism in place. Re-Install the lock cylinder onto the new tailgate handle.
  4. Re-assemble the new tailgate handle into the tailgate in reverse order. Do not put back the tailgate cover until after testing the camera. Decide whether the parking guide lines will be used or not. See next page for instructions on how to turn ON/OFF the parking guide lines.
  5. Route the Video and Power cables from the tailgate to the bottom of the truck. Route the the camera power wires to the tail light assembly. Tap the RED wire to the +12V reverse light wire and the BLACK wire to ground.
Continue to route the video cable towards the radio and plug in the video RCA to the back of the aftermarket radio of back up camera interface reverse camera input.
  6. Test the camera for functionality then put back the tailgate cover.

Tip: There should be an opening (covered by a rubber boot) between the cabin and the bed of the truck where you can insert the cables into the cabin area. You can run the video cable under the door sill cover.

*NOTE: To power the camera, use RED Wire A or B. If tapping power from the radio or RVC Interface, make sure to insulate RED Wire A to avoid it from shorting. If you will be tapping power from the reverse light +12V, insulate RED
Wire B to avoid it from shorting. With either connection the Black GROUND wire needs to be connected to a solid chassis ground. For vehicles with manual transmission, we recommend tapping +12V power from the reverse light.

WHITE Wire: Connect to show parking guide line. Disconnect to remove. Insulate with tape to avoid from shorting.
Note: Cycle the camera power after connecting or disconnecting the control wire.
