SAFETY MEASURES AND CONSIDERATIONS
To ensure correct fitment and long-term reliability of your GTurbo VDJ70 Airbox, please follow the special considerations below during installation.
WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT
AIRBOX & SNORKEL COMPATIBILITY
- The GTurbo Airbox features 4” inlet and outlet connections, whereas the factory airbox and snorkel plumbing are slightly smaller.
FACTORY SNORKEL INSTALLATION
- When retaining the factory snorkel, the factory snorkel plumbing must slide inside the GTurbo Airbox snorkel inlet.
- The factory snorkel must not fit over the outside of the GTurbo Airbox inlet or be secured in the factory clamp-over configuration.
4” & SAFARI ARMAX SNORKEL INSTALLATION
- When using a 4” snorkel or Safari Armax snorkel, install the supplied 4” straight silicone joiner to connect the snorkel directly to the GTurbo Airbox.
AIRBOX LID SEALING
- Ensure the GTurbo Airbox lid is fully seated on the seal between the upper lid and lower airbox section.
- An incorrectly seated lid can result in leaks and poor sealing.
- Tighten the lid evenly, checking seal alignment before final tightening.
INTAKE PIPE FITMENT
- Due to the increased 4” inlet size, the factory ribbed rubber intake pipe may be tight during installation.
- If required, gently heat the rubber intake pipe with a heat gun to soften it prior to fitting.
- Do not overheat the intake pipe.
FINAL INTAKE INSPECTION
- After installation, visually inspect all intake connections and hose clamps.
- Confirm all joints are fully seated and secure before starting the vehicle.
